About me

French portrait photographer based close to Basel, Switzerland.

Love film & polaroid. Medium & large format.

Laurent was born in 1978 in Colmar (France) and now lives at the triangle border area close to Basel, Switzerland. As a kid, he always loved to assist his father in processing 35mm black and white films in the lab. But it is only many years later, during his stay in Germany in his late twenties, that he discovered his passion for portrait, fashion and artistic nude photography as an occupation during his spare time, inspired by the works of masters like Richard Avedon, Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier or Paolo Roversi. After some years shooting mainly digital, he started to be more and more interested in analog medium and large format photography. The reason isn’t only the timeless look and feel of the film that he especially appreciates, but also the slower pace of the whole process, contrasting with the speed of the overwhelming digital world.
